The outgoing games in 2019 are really many and if everyone will arrive on the scheduled dates, by the end of the year the owners of consoles and PC will be spoiled for choice.
Drawing up a list of the three most anticipated titles for each of the main platforms was not a simple undertaking, considering a large number of triple-A productions and independent games. We, therefore, decided to follow the heart, aware that some of our choices may not be shared by everyone.
- The Last of Us Part II
- Ghost of Tsushima
We have no doubt that the exclusive for PlayStation 4 that we expect most is The Last of Us Part II. The enthralling gameplay trailer (shown on the occasion of the E3 2018) has aroused in us a whirlwind of emotions, making the sensations we felt with the unforgettable first chapter resurface.
We can not wait to play and we are sure that the events told in the expected sequel – which will take place five years after the events of the first episode – will manage to conquer us. We will find a more mature Ellie, different from the one we remember, immersed in a narrative that will touch the themes of hatred and violence.
- Ori and the Will of the Wisps
- Gears 5
- Crackdown 3
We can not think about the overwhelming artistic sector and of characters Ori and the Blind Forest ( Links to the review) therefore at the forefront of our top 3 for Xbox have entered Ori and the Will of the Wisp.
The sequel to the highly acclaimed Moon Studios title promises a greater amount of content, a visual, artistic and sound to be breathless and also in the gameplay, we are sure, that the title will be able to amaze proposing new mechanics, expanding and improving what was proposed in the first episode, all accompanied by a level of challenge worthy of note.
After a fourth episode that failed to amaze, also due to a campaign too anchored to the past and a JD Fenix not up to the famous Marcus, from Gears 5 we expect the best and eagerly want a title able to bring back GOC and Locusts at the “past glories”.
Feudal Japan fascinates us and third-person stealth games are among the genres we like best. In our top 3 could not, therefore, miss Ghost of Tsushima, the new IP of Sucker Punch, set in 1274 when the fearsome Mongol empire invades the Japanese island of Tsushima and massacre its legendary defenders: the Samurai.
Choosing the game intended to occupy the third step of the podium was not easy and we do not deny that for a moment we wanted to include Death Stranding but our passion for MediEvil took over.
The remake of the iconic title, originally released on the first PlayStation back in 1998, for us is absolutely a “Must Have”: the endless hours spent playing the original cannot be forgotten.
On the third step of the podium, we have instead decided to insert one of the titles on which most of the gamers have more doubts than ever: Crackdown 3. After 9 years, after a series of interminable postponements and a decidedly troubled development, the new chapter of the well-known franchise will be back on Microsoft’s platforms in February.
It is useless to deny that the expectations are not the best, but we are still very curious to get our hands on the third chapter of Crackdown that could instead amaze and turn out to be a “Must Have” for all fans of the franchise.
- Metroid Prime 4
- Pokémon 2019
- Luigi’s Mansion 3
Metroid Prime 4, for us, is without a doubt the most awaited title, a purchase virtually forced and, despite Nintendo has not disclosed details about the game, we are sure that the new episode of the iconic franchise will amaze and engage.
The only thought to review in action one of the most important protagonists of the entire gaming scene in a title created specifically for Nintendo Switch has no “price” and even exceeds the desire to get their hands on the new game of Pokémon that therefore in our ranking must settle for a second place.
The new Pokémon will be released in the second half of 2019: it will be a completely new title, characterized by RPG mechanics, which promises to amaze and conquer not only the veterans of the franchise but also new players.
The choice of third place was not easy: the candidates were Bayonetta 3 and the new chapter of Luigi’s Mansion.
In the end, we decided to follow the heart by assigning the third step of the podium to Luigi’s Mansion 3. The short trailer showed a few months ago ( Link ), has brought back our memory back in the years: it was 2002 and, for the first time, we played Luigi’s Mansion with our Gamecube; a game that has managed to offer us an original, surprising and fun experience.
