Repairing the Windows 10 start button is quite simple if we know the steps we must take. Personally, I have never had this problem, but several friends and family members have suffered it and I had to rush to the rescue.
The most common failure that occurs in the start button is caused by an erroneous installation of updates, which ends up generating conflict and blocking that component of the system. This means, in short, that the start button stops working.
It is not particularly serious, but I have seen some cases in which the problem extends to the entire taskbar and some key elements of Windows 10, such as Windows Defender, the Microsoft Store and even basic applications such as the photo viewer.
In this article, we will share with you all the steps you must take to repair the start button and solve, effectively, all the problems associated with this error, including those that we have mentioned in the previous paragraph.
How to repair the start button in Windows 10
It is not necessary to format or restore the PC to get out of this crossroads, you just have to follow these steps to repair the start button in Windows 10:
- Press the Windows key and the letter “R” at the same time, this will open the advantage where we can execute commands. In that window, you have to write “Powershell“.
- The new command console of the system will open. In it, we will write (without quotes) “Start-Process PowerShell -Verb runAs” and press enter. This will allow us to work as an administrator, essential for the whole process to work.
- A new window will have opened. In it we must write (again without quotation marks) the command “DISM.exe / Online / Cleanup-image / Restorehealth” . The operation may take, so be patient.
- Now we end up entering the command “Sfc / Scannow”, also without quotes. We let it work and ready, we close Powershell.
When the process has finished it will not be necessary to restart the equipment. We can directly check the result by clicking on the elements that did not work for us. None of the commands we have listed carries any risk to your team, so you can use them without fear.
